I just bought a wisacom usb200 usb wireless adapter, which uses a realtez RTL8187L chipset. It has a screw-on antenna and is 200 mw in power. I was wanting something with range.
I also have an atheros ar5007eg built into my netbook.
So far I haven't been able to connect with the realtek to anything. I have the key to a nearby wifi network, and the atheros connects to it fine, but not the realtek. Whether I use the windows zero or the realtek software, it either sits there trying or at best gets limited or no connectivity.
Also strange is that the atheros finds more networks to connect to. The realtek will find about half as many, even tho the signal on those is about three times as strong.
Do I need to tweak some settings or something?
Pint-size luxury and funky style
