Question

Really strange problem with LG TV :S

Jun 20, 2017 5:31AM PDT

So I have an LG TV - the 55UF680V-ZA (55 inch ULTRA HD 4K LED TV). I've had it for one year and last week some aspects of the screen have gone, however the picture is still perfect . . .

If I try and watch Netflix I can get on the screen to select what to watch and everything is crystal clear until I try and watch the programme (appears as grey fuzz). If I want to go on the internet I can, I can scroll through but if I try and watch something the box where the programme should be is grey fuzz, the same as normal TV, I can select the programme from the programme menu but when it appears its grey fuzz again.

The sound works perfectly, every time there is space where a motion picture if supposed to be playing there is grey fuzz. the screen itself works perfectly though, as it demonstrates the other pictures I mentioned above as it should.

Does anyone know which part of the TV is broken so I can start trying to get it fixed?

Any help much appreciated.

Will

There's no user serviceable parts here outside the remote and batteries. I have yet to find TV techs in the forums for many reasons but check your warranty as it's just a year old. Many sets have over 1 year warranties.

Same problem

I have the exact same problem, I can perfectly see and scroll through the menus and see perfect colors but whenever I play something that "grey fuzz" appears but mine has vertical lines with the fuzz. it seems that the tv is not accepting any sort of motion (videos, movies, tv, games.. etc)..

The weird thing is, when I moved the TV to my other apartment it worked perfectly for two days then the fuzz came back.

I am no TV expert but it seems that something is loose on the inside..

If you found a solution please share it.

That move is a clue.

When you moved it, the connections inside were given a small jostle. Ask your TV tech to try the old unplug and plug it back in on all internal connections. If you do this yourself, again, not user serviceable and can be lethal to those that don't know the rules of servicing.
