I don't like the remote either. I am using a Sony Google NSZ-GT1 box with my Samsung TV and it has the best remote I have ever seen. It's a small square with keyboard and mouse built in plus all the usual remore buttons but Google does not have the useful apps. The Sony Google remote is no bigger than the long slim remotes that come with almost all TV's and DVD players and it's easy to hold and use.
It is time for the designers to totally redesign the remotes to something that is useful.
After using my UE40ES6710 for a few months now, I'm really not enjoying using the smart hub. It's such a shame as it could be great - even better if it could be ported over to Android/Google TV. I am now having to look for alternatives such as a Google TV box or console like Xbox or PS3 to use instead of the Samsung interface - it's slow and a pain to input searches and I really don't want to have to fork out for a Samsung keyboard that won't really work well in the apps.
