Macbook lovers should skip this one

the Macs get dissed faster than a snowcone in Hell, so If your a mac fan there's nothing of interest in this one.

And sadly, many factors that affect laptop purchases were never discussed. The best call on a laptop choice. Know what you want it to do and then get the one that covers as many of your desires as you can get for your budget.

For me Battery life matters so its higher on my list than speed or graphics. Not so fo my son who is a gamer, For him the graphics card, 7200 rpm HDD and mega ram matter more.

Know what you want it to do, Test it with your aplication, and then commit and enjoy it.

Sorry Tom not your best podcast. A bit nore tech might have saved it.

I can only get the BOL forum at work and no other C|Net forums (blocked) so I had to leave this here.

YOU FORGOT HEAT!

My Toshiba Tablet PC is a monster when it comes to weight (you got that one) ... it is a stinker when it comes to battery life (you got that one) ... It has a nice big screen (you got that one) ... but...

The Toshiba Tablet PC runs so hot that it can scald my legs. And forget about running it sitting on a pillow on the bed!

The only other thing you could talk about was touch-screen or pen input (which is what makes a Tablet PC a Tablet). On this count I would tell everyone "do not bother". It ain't worth it.
