Can you change the resolution to allow larger print? Sometimes that helps. Getting a larger monitor will definitely help.
There is free software that enables LCDs to display text better. Google ClearType Tuning. I use it on my 22" and 19" LCDs as well as my 15" laptop. It really makes an improvement.
This may seem a strange question, but this is definitely something that I am finding difficult.
I have just started my MSc research and for first time I am reading a large quantity of research papers in PDF format (rather than textbooks) and damn its a headache (and not because of the material). Currently, I have two monitors but they both aren't very good for this purpose. One is a old 15" (ish) CRT, which I really just use for added workspace and the other is my 14.1" wide-screen laptop screen. What I was wondering is, what would be the best way to improve my reading experience. I have two ideas;
1. Buy another larger external monitor. In which case, which size/resolution would be best.
2. Buy an ebook reader, such as a kindle. However, I am not sure how good these devices are for pdf's.
If anyone has any advice that would be great. Also, as I am a student, I am not super rich at moment lol, so cost effective solutions would be appreciated.
