Read old threads

May 14, 2008 8:53AM PDT

Hello. It seems to me that it is impossible to read old threads. I have founf old threads that correspond to an issue I need to solve, but I cannot find a way to read the whole thread. I want to read from the very start - the Question that started the thread - to the very end - every single response until the last one -.

Is it at all possible?

Thx

Depends how old

Some of these threads are really old and they are archived by CNET. That makes accessing them again difficult.

If you get CNET's Page Not Found page you can try clicking your browser's Reload/Refresh button and usually that will retrieve the page eventually.

However there are problems with posting into old threads/discussions. Many members here will see the date of the original post in the Message Listing for the forum and will 'pass on by' because of the age of the thread. That means that many new posts will go unnoticed.

Mainly this is because the original problems posted are about situations that only apply at that time, eg hardware problems, software updates, driver problems, etc, and it would be rare for similar problems to exist today.

If you are seeking guidance on any problems you are having with your system, please feel free to post your message in a new thread, and give full details of your system specifications and of the problem.

Good luck.

Mark
