Re: Re]Samsung MM-C550D

Hi,

I have a samsung MM-C550D, the sound is great and features for Ipod Music etc is nice. it hooks up with hdmi and links to my lg tv all well and good. meaning I switch my micro hifi on and switch to DVD and it switches on my tv and put it on the input for dvd player etc all nice and easy.

My problem is that I cannot play my divx collection on the device. it's not recognising any divx on my hdd, the hdd is supported but not the videos. Do you think all my divx videos the titles of those files need to finish by .avi? and I've got the same problem with some mp3. do they absolutely need to have .mp3 at the end for them to play?

kerswhite.

I'm not sure, to be perfectly honest. That unit isn't sold in the U.S. region, and without perusing the manual, it would be difficult to know.

In some cases, I do know that DIVX functionality may require that you burn the file to a disc to play in the unit. Unless the manual specifically states that there's a streaming option, it may require you to burn a disc.

For mp3 files, it has to be in the mp3 format. Are you able to get some to play and not others?

Concerning MP3, yes some play and some others don't.

Concerning Dvix the problem is yesterday I downloaded some files and converted them to dvix and they play on the device, but the videos that I received from a friend do not as well as videos that I had downloaded from youtube also.

What I read from the net is that there is some sort of Registration video from divx, is that really needed to play divx files?

kerswhite,

There may be a registration option in the player itself. Check the Menu > Settings or Setup opion.

The issue with mp3 - check the bit-rate (perhaps variable or certain kbps is not supported).

You might also check with the Samsung customer service center in your region. They may be able to speak better on this specific product than I'll be able to.
