I bought a $25 phono preamp at Radio Shack which has worked beautifully for me to turn LP records to CDs. What you want is the Magnetic Cartridge Stereo Preamp (Catalog #: 970-1018). This piece of equipment connects between your turntable (even includes the ground wire connection) and your computer's audio card 'line in'. The 3 connections from the turntable plug into the device and the output goes to the sound card. You'll need a Y connector also available at RS to get from the Left/Right phono plug to 1/8" stereo male which goes into the sound card.
Pint-size luxury and funky style
