re-installing XP

i reinstalled xp. when i reboot it ask me to choose which operating system i want to use. both choices are xp. 1 works and the other doesn't. how do i get rid of this?

You have done a parallel install and wish to get rid of the corrupt one. All you have to do is to delete the corersonding line from boot.ini file. For details, read the example from the following MSKB article:
