RE 100% usage of my CPU

Jun 30, 2010 7:23PM PDT

hi there

I use a Sony Vaio FW-21L Laptop with the following configuration

Processor: Inter Core 2 Dup CPU T5800 @ 2.00Ghz
Ram: 3.00GB
System Type: 32-bit OS,Windows Vista-Home Premium SP2.

When I try to use the Flash media Encoder ( FME,Adobe ) the CPU usage shoots up to 100% and it says ' Not Responding ' for a while and then it freezes for a while untill it gets back to normal. When ever I try to change some settings on my FME the same thing happens and it really annoys me.As well the source video which I try to stream also drags such a way even my stream gets affected.I tried CC cleaner and cleaned 9.00Gb of junk and still its the same problem.

Can you please provide me a solution.

Thanks

My first impression: isn't it nice that your CPU is fully used? If it were only used for 50% the task would take twice as long. That would be even more annoying.

In the processes tab of Task Manager, have a look what processes are using all that CPU. You didn't tell. One thing that's sure, however: cleaning files from the hard disk won't make any difference.

Same here.

When I run video encoding here my CPU goes to 100% because there is a lot to be done. That's normal. The not responding is also sadly normal for Windows and apps that need the CPUs full attention.

I don't see anything wrong here. What I do see wrong is that the computer industry has decided that education about how things work is unimportant. Selling the product and getting "contracts" is!
