I've also tried to file my audio books into the 'audiobooks' folder... and they don't stay there. So, I make the files into an album, and rename them Chapter 01, 02 etc... and they seem to keep themselves organized for the most part. One or two of them have done a strange thing, however. The Opal sorts them into the odd numbered files first, and then the even numbered ones come second. Utterly aggravating, but easy enough to skip around in the 'play this album only' mode.
As far as the codec goes, they just released a firmware update...I'd try updating first and see if that fixes the problem.
Hi, I'm new here but I was wondering if anybody else has had problems with their RCA Lyra Opal 4008 8gb Mp3 player?
Every time I try to convert any of my videos files I get this message:
"MP3 Audio codec is required in order to properly convert your video, please reinstall the
application through cd-rom. The conversion has been aborted.
I'm using windows xp media center edition and I've made sure I have the correct codec installed but I don't know what else to try.
I'm also having trouble with the way the Opal automatically sorts my mp3 files. Specifically I'd like to put my MP3 audio books on the player without them being placed in the "Music folder" is there a way to do this?
The way the Opal oraganises files is actually huge let down for me and has been a bit of a disapointment. I'm used to being able to creat my own folders to sort and organise my music
into mixed groups but with the Opal it just throws everything into the "Music" folder and iliminates any of my own sorting.
