Rca lyra Mc4002 wont work

I have 2 computers, one has vista one has xp. I tried connecting my Rca lyra to the windows xp computer but it wouldn't recharge or turn on, it also does not detect it. i tried it with the vista computer but the samething happened. i tryied reseting the rca lyra but nothing happened. i downloaded firmware but it did not detect my rca lyra. What should i do to fix this?

Sounds defective.
