Again, analog vs. digital. . .

In reply to: thank you for the info, but

Component and RCA are analog signals. DVI is a digital signal. I know of no converter.

so is there a way?

So is there any way to connect a ps2 to an lcd monitor with dvi-d or vga inputs?

Don't think so . . .

In reply to: so is there a way?

Computer monitors and TVs are two different animals regarding their inputs. They accept two different signals.

Here's how i did it

In reply to: so is there a way?

went out & bought a vid capture card specifically the ATI TV Wonder 200 (59$ @ CompUSA) & ran my PS2 through the component vid....i've only played guitar hero thus far but w/ good results vid quality is good for a card this cheap, no noticeable lag, the screen has 'jumped' a lil bit here & there but not enough to interfere w/ game play or become annoying to me
check out my profile for my comp specs
good luck

about audio

In reply to: Here's how i did it

i'm not even using the audio input...i have a seperate system that i use. all i wanted this to do is patch my PS2 to my monitor & that it does. now i'm just gonna save another week & get a real vid cap card this is just a temporary solution

about audio

In reply to: about audio

the only way I know of doing this w/o the use of a computer is by getting a dvi box that can convert rca, component, or s-video into dvi to connect to your monitor

almost there...

This is how I did it... again

In reply to: almost there...

i tried the TV Wonder 650 PCI and the ALL In Wonder 2006 both cards had horrible lags. Just get the Tv Wonder 200 PCI and enjoy.

The picture quality isn't great but decent. And you must have an available audio input to use the audio through the card ( i hooked it up directly to my speakers using an RCA to 1/8 inch Y-coupler and a 1/8 inch coupler both available at Radioshack. All in all this costs about 60$-70$ depending on where you buy the TV Wonder 200 for.

Hope this helps anyone else out there!
