RC1 & Creative Sound Card Problem

by islandporgy / October 5, 2006 8:37 AM PDT

RC1 does not recognize my creative Sound card, says it is not installed while it was working on Vista beta2. And do not want to use my sound card software.
Can anybody help me out:

Thank You:

Wendell H

This problem should have been solved in RC1. Why are you still on Beta 2? And is it x64 or x86?

I misread your post...You are using RC1. Can't answer because all my drivers installed correctly. Have you tried compatibility mode?
Joh will probably be replying with the perfect solution.
I suggest you state whether 32bit or 64bit as many drivers work on 32 but not on 64. I had to switch:)

* Are you running the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Vista RC1?
* What is the model number of your Creative sound card?
* Why do you want to avoid the sound card's software?

In short, you could avoid using software related to your sound card but you would need to download the drivers from Creative. However, note that they have not released updated drivers for RC1 so you'd have to try Beta 2's drivers and hope they work.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
