razr v3c with sprint

by Rotordog / December 15, 2005 9:04 AM PST

I was wondering... is it possible to use a razr v3c on the sprint network???

I noticed you could buy them cheaper on ebay than the a900.

Just curious.

Sprint most likely won't activate a phone not made for Sprint. It's possible to activate the phone for use as a phone, but for data, it will try to connect to Verizon, Alltel, or any other CDMA carrier that already has the Razr V3C. As it stands, Sprint doesn't offer a single phone by Motorola on their service (not counting Nextel). I don't know the reason, but there has to be a reason Sprint won't offer any Motorola phone on their service.

Razr or Razr clone?

I haven't heard of the Razr being offered to Sprint users, but I'm aware of a Razr clone by Samsung. Most likely, that's the phone they're offering. Sprint hasn't offered a single Motorola phone in their lineup in 3-4 years, since the Motorola V120 series. Whether Motorola phones get into Sprint's lineup once Nextel is phased out is unknown, but if Sprint has a strict criteria on features and style, then that might keep Motorola out. I wonder if price is another possibility that keeps Motorola out, or other manufacturers pay Sprint big bucks to keep Motorola out of Sprint's lineup.
