Question

Rate for sales thru CNET

Aug 24, 2011 12:08AM PDT

I am going to upload a new computer app to CNET but need to know the rate schedule. I am planning a 30 day free trial and a $3.99 price after the trial period. How much will I have to pay CNET for the service?

Here's a direct link to review the listing packages available - https://upload.cnet.com/2706-21_5-973-4.html

It all depends on the level of promotion and service you would like.

I should, however, note that CNET is now strongly pushing users to download software using CNET's 'secure installer' unless you, as a developer, choose the Premium rate plan or use the Pay-Per-Download option. Users can bypass this, but some developers weren't fully aware of this and were surprised to see the recent change that affected their users.

Hope this helps,
John
