Rasberry: The FoxNews plot to trash objective reporting

Apr 17, 2005 11:06PM PDT
Fox News bully threatening whole news playground.

>>The in-your-face right-wing partisanship that marks Fox News Channel's news broadcasts is having two dangerous effects.

The first is that the popularity of the approach ? Fox is clobbering its direct competition (CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, etc.) ? leads other cable broadcasters to mimic it, which in turn debases the quality of the news available to that segment of the TV audience.

The second, far more dangerous, effect is that it threatens to destroy public confidence in all news.<<

One, he makes claims without any proof or analysis. He pretty much just states that FoxNews often is not in the same camp as the rest of the media. Wow, big deal. A news source that offers different opinions than what EVERY other major news source provides. Sounds to me like diversity of thought is at work in Fox's success.
And his closing statements are funny too, discounting Fox (DENIAL) because it doesn't stand up to CBS, ABC, or NBC during primetime. Well silly, thats because the others have entertainment programming instead of news. Gees he's clueless... or depending on his readers to be.

Why not a single story or example cited to back up his theory? Raspberry has always been one of the most partisan columnists around. Why should anyone believe his take on what's fair or balanced?

It's a joke, Dave.

You got 6 replies and two actually seemed to have read the article. That's better than you usually get from the Fox addicts.
