manual configuration option

In reply to: rangemax installation

If you can't get your hands on the CD, note that the router can be configured without it.

Connect your computer to a numbered port on the router and use that computer to go to the router's administration page:

http://192.168.1.1

Default username: admin
Default password: password

Go to Netgear.com to download the manual for your particular hardware version of your router:
http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/wpn824.asp

NOTE: All of this assumes the router has its default settings. If not, you need to power on the router and hold the "reset" button in for 10 seconds.

It sounds like you have been successful in making a good connection from your computer to your router.

Now, what is your goal? Have you purchased Internet service form an ISP? Do you need to connect your router to a DSL or cable modem?

While still being connected to the router, what happens when you go to http://192.168.1.1 ? Do you get a request for a username and password?

Have you downloaded the manual yet?
