Range of IRDA

Oct 28, 2004 10:51AM PDT

I recently ordered a rx3115 (Haven't received it yet). Anyway, I was wondering what is the range on those iPaq IR? It's for the TV remote thingy.

1-3 feet? I think you meant meters?

My Casio Remote Control watch can do 15ft, and it runs on a cell battery!

I have a few Palms that have the IR control software. The IrDA emitters are not as strong as a common remote control.

I received my PDA today. I found out I could use it at 30 ft. Nice. Thanks for the replies tho.

No, I didn't use any external device. Just the Nevo software that came with my PDA.

Is made for this feature. For the Palm, you'll see only 10 or less feet.

Nice feature!
