Random Windows 10 restarts...watchdog error

by Ednsandy / August 17, 2015 12:52 PM PDT

Wife's computer randomly goes to a blue screen and says a problem was encountered, watchdog error and reboots....loses work in progress. Happens a few times a day. Any solution other than returning to Windows 7?

Now while this happened at the office on Windows 8 and not saying it's this it took a while to sniff out what it was. It turned out to be a Seagate HDD issue. We cloned the drive and this error never came back. The HDD passed all drive tests but yet when put into service the watchdog error reoccurs. The few times I was there when it happened the HDD spun down.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
