Random keyboard keys not working

Nov 22, 2008 6:18AM PST

I have a wireless Dell keyboard with Win XP. Sometimes after a reboot, a random key or 2 will not work. I won't know until I get to that key of course. I resolve it by rebooting and usually this does the trick, but sometimes another random key will just stop working. Each time it happens it's always a different key. It only happens after a reboot. So if everything is working fine, a key won't just stop working out of the blue...there has to be a reboot.

If I go to Start > Programs > Accessories > Accessibility > On-Screen Keyboard -- the non-working key will work. It seems like just that key's particular signal is not being communicated via the keyboard's wireless hub.

Any ideas?
