Gateway LT41P10u came with 2gb ram. Today I replaced the 2gb stick with a 4gb stick. Bios recognized it as a 2gb stick. After spending a couple hours on line, I tried reinstalling the latest bios firmware even though I already had that version installed. Then the bios recognized 4gb but Windows reported that only 2gb was useable. More research on line. Then I did a clean install of Windows and voila, Windows now recognizes 4 gb and uses all but a little used for video. If anybody has this same situation, now you can see what solved it for me and maybe it will work for you.
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
