RAM upgrade

by brimes1 / January 23, 2006 1:57 AM PST

Hi, I would like to buy another stick of ram. I have looked at the ram installed in my PC and it has the following information on it: MEX512X64C163208C25.5 512MB DDR 400MHZ-CL2.5 My problem is this there is some on ebay for sale but I am not sure which one will be compatable. Can anyone put me out of my misery and enlighten me? Another question is what does PC 2100, 2700, 3800, 2000MB mean and how can I find out what my PC is? Many thanks in anticipation.

While there are plenty of things I might consider buying off of ebay, RAM isn't one of them.

I'd just do yourself a favor and go to and use the memory selector tool to figure out what you need. While it might be more expensive, Crucial makes top rate RAM chips, and you know you're buying from a reputable company (Micron) so if for some reason it doesn't work out, you have at least a 50/50 chance of being able to return it.
