Total Physical Memory 4,096.00 MB /
PS...Only the 64bit versions of XP or Vista can use all 4GBs RAM. The 32bit versions use varying amount around 3GBs.
I just installed some new RAM into my system.
The problem is that I dont know if my system is recognizing all of my ram.
I installed 4 1gb chips.
I did a system scan from crucial.com and it showed that I am running windows XP with a D915GAG Motherboard and that each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700, DDR PC3200.
I Bought 4 DDR3200 chips at best buy.
My question is that different places that I get my system information provide me with different information IF I go to:
Start>Accessories>System Tools> System information: it says that I have the following regarding memory: Total Physical Memory 4,096.00 MB / Available Physical memory 2.41 GB / Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB / Available Virtual Memory 1.96 GB.
But when I right click on My Computer and go to properties it says that I have 2.87 GB of RAM
So my question is did I install my RAM right and my system is recognizing all 4gb according to what system information says, or did I install it incorrectly and/or my system is not recognizing all of it according to the 2.87 GB off RAM it shows in System Properties.
