Ram limit on XP Home

by wet woodpecker / July 29, 2006 2:17 PM PDT

I've read there is a 'suggested' ( by Microsoft ) installed Ram limit of 1.5 GB on WinXP Home. Is this info true? If yes, does anyone know why?

XP, being a 32-bit operating system, has a 4GB limit on pretty much anything, including RAM. There are some tricks that can be used to get around that, but they won't be needed until Vista reaches middle age.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
