One of the lessons you learn is that memory rarely can be mixed. I tend to get such from Crucial.com so I know it will work.
So i tried installing a 8gb of ram into my acer apsire r14. It apparently can hold to a max of 12 ram (weird number). When opening it, it only had one availabe slot which I guessed was the 4 because it had 4 chips. So thinking that the 2gb of ram was inside the motherboard i bought a 8gb of ram stick. When installing the eight there was ram that was built it. That happened to be the 4gb of ram. The 8gb of ram was having issues working because when i checked my ram it said i have 4 not 10!. So after a few tries i put back the old 2gb of ram and when opening my laptop again and checking my ram it still says i have 4. This is very upsetting to me and I would love some answers please.
