Ram for HP Dv6 pavilion 3055tx Laptop

by mayankbaba / May 22, 2015 8:59 PM PDT

I have HP pavilion Dv6 3055tx laptop. My ram is not working properly so i want to upgrade it with 4GB ram. the ram i got from HP is having specification "ddr3 pc3 10600 sodimm" but many website claims that it should have "ddr3 pc3 8500 sodimm".

i have two question

1. which ram i should perches pc3 10600 or pc3 8500?
2. if i have to perches "ddr3 pc3 8500 sodimm" then does "Crucial 4GB DDR3 1066 MT/s PC3-8500 204-Pin Memory for Mac" is compatible for my system?

thank you

The crucial memory finder doesn't know the tx, only the dx.

If that's same enough, the best you can do is to buy the the 2* 2GB CT5635106 or if you have the 64-bit version of Windows the CT5306933 (DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V • upgrade for HP - Compaq Pavilion dv6-3055dx system), that they guarantee to be compatible. Why you think about memory for a Mac is unclear to me.

Don't mix with your current RAM, just replace all.

actually this mac ram has the specification which i wanted for my laptop, nothing special about it.
and the second thing is crucial and kingston both memory finder doesn't know about tx. if we simply google "Pavilion dv6-3055tx laptop specification" then it shows that this system is compatible with "ddr3 pc3 8500 sodimm1.5V".

i also asked in amazon about the same and they replied "dear buyer for your system you required 4GB DDR3 1066MHz SODIMM"

there is a lot of confusion man, please help me..

i am using ubuntu in my system.

I do this a lot and no longer mix ram. It's a sure fire way to get callbacks and folk telling others you are a crappy tech.

I don't read that "4GB DDR3 1066 MT/s PC3-8500 204-Pin Memory for Mac" is sodimm. But if you want to try, in stead of following a clear recommandation, go ahead.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
