OK - I recently wanted to boost my RAM on one of my other computers. It has 2 banks and I could go upto 2G of RAM according to the specs. The Question - I was always under the impression that you had to have/install an equal amount of memory in each slot. Ex: right now I have 2 256 sticks for 512. The chap in the PC store said that I didn't have to be EQUAL anymore and that I could install a 1G in one slot and leave the other 256 in the other. Is he right??
All my system stats say that I'm running 1.2G of Ram now - so is this - all good - or can I be doing something to affect my system in the long run? Thanks
