Resolved Question

RAM

Jul 2, 2018 7:34AM PDT

I asked two certified geeks about my Dell 9020 desktop (no "M" or other model), 1TB SSD, 64bit, Windows 7 PRO, i7, about how much RAM I can use and I got two different answers. One said 16GB max and the other said 32GB max. Which is correct, if either, or is it somewhere higher?

Slow down.

Depending on use, today I find that 8 to 16GB is sufficient and will NOT, will NEVER speed up a PC much.

As to checking out max, I use Crucial.com a lot.

If your machine is the mt or sff......32GB

If it is the usff.....16GB

Take the cover of and count the ram slots.

I have 4 RAM slots, but I don't know what you mean by "mt...sff...or usff", sorry. When I purchased my Crucial MX500 1TB SSD they said it was compatible with my Dell 9020 and the max memory is 32GB. I'm confused and I don't want to load up the wrong sticks. Thanks for your help.
