Resolved Question

Ralink Wireless Install package does not support my XP O.S.

Dec 11, 2011 11:57PM PST

I installed A startech 802.11g wireless pci 555wg card in my dell XP home edition sp2 x86 based desktop . restarted my p.c. & inserted cd/disk version 2.3 in cd rom drive. the Ralink wireless InstallShield wizard started up & then I was informed that the install package does not support my operating system.
Folks , how do I solve this problem ,where do I go from here ?.
regards, apprentice.

Ralink-Winxp

There apppear to be downloads, from Ralink of drivers for Win xp. Likely the easiest way to do this would involve(since you can't get your system to hook up) another computer that is on the net. Download the drivers for your OS,(from Ralink) save them to a flash drive and upload them from the FD to the system you are trying to hook up with Ralink. Generally in situations such as this I would save the files (drivers) from the FD to a file , generally my documents and run it from there. Good luck!

What I do is use another wifi device. Today I use the sub 20 buck adapters.

Is it worth 20 or less bucks to fix?
