As I know RAID offers many advantages over the use of single hard disks, but it is clearly not for everyone.
Redundancy is the main advantage of Raid. It allowed for a form of backup of the data in the storage array in the event of a failure.
I have a ASUS M2NPV-VM mother board which has settings for raid. What is this used for and how do I use it. I am running windows xp sp3 2gigs of ddr 2 6400 memory, 80gig IDE hard drive (non sata) .This is a home built computer. I am planning on purchasing win7 home premium and upgrading to a larger SATA hard drive 500gig to 1TB or so.
