Ghost your drive.
Use an external drive with Automatic Back-up Software Augmented by burning back-ups to DVD or CD.
Looking for some advice before I make a choice. I'm running a Dell Desktop with Windows XP Pro. Having just replaced a hard drive, and going through all the fun that it brings, I want to save what little hair I have left should it happen again.
I'm debating on whether to install a Raid 1 backup drive or just install an external drive with Automatic Back-up Software. The latter would be set to backup my selected folders and files rather than everything on my drive. Although I like the idea and convenience of a bootable drive with Raid should my primary drive take a vacation, I'm concerned that if something "infects" that drive such as a virus, a mirroring setup would in turn infect the 2nd drive, rendering it useless also. Am I right in this assumption? I am running a WAP protected router and Anti-virus software, but ya never know! Any thoughts would be appreciated.
