Why do u want a raid config?mainly a raid 0
I have had some issues recently with firmware for raid configurations
this past summer- i had a set of disks go out becuase of bad firmware
i would prefer raid 1 over raid 0- but thats just my opinion
Hi, I am building a new PC and gonna buy 2x Maxtor 200BG SATA HDD.
I have an old PC with a 40GB and 80GB IDE drives. I don't want the drives to go to waste and understand the MB I am goona buy ASUS Nforce4 SLI Deluxe can support 4 SATA RAID and IDE Raid.
I want the 2 x 200GB in a RAID 0.
Question are:
1. Should I partition the RAID 0 drive or keep it 400GB for best performane and use of space.
2. Should I use one of the 40GB drive for Windows installation and My Documents folder and put all applications on the RAID or should I install Windows on to the RAID drive?
I ask because I always thought it wasa best to partition your drive to 10GB for Windows and then use the rest for apps.
