Hey I know this post is old but i need to know what was wrong with your jeep when all this radiator business happened to you because mine did this 4 days ago and I cannot get her to stay running.....please, help me out here because I can't find an answer anywhere!!! nheskett@live.ca
i have a 1995 jeep grand cherokee limited eddition. i blew a heater hose wile driving down the interstate. the jeep started to overheat so i pulled over. while pulling over the car died. after getting the jeep towed home it sat for a week in sub zero temps. after it warmed back up i replaced the hose and topped off the fluids. started up after a few tries, but had to hold pedal to floor.? (the engine is fuel injected?) then stayed running. any how the radiator was not cycling through. one line hot the bottom line cold. the temp gauge was heating up. when i accelerate temp gauge goes down. assuming it to be the thermostat i changed it. went to start back up and engine won't start. pushing accelerator to floor will fire but cut out imideatly. can hear fuel pump kicking in, there is spark, all plugs are connected, poured a little gas in injector didnt work, held throttel open still not working. every once in a wile will fire but have to accell to keep running when i let go it dies. i reset security to make sure gas cut off was not the problem. i don't know if the radiator issue will be resolved with the new thermostat, and am getting really fustrated. i don't know if mabey fluids got in injector sensors when hose broke? or how to even check that. i am really struggiling with this and need som input. somone suggested changing crankshaft sensor (crank position sensor) , but i don't see how that could solve the problem being that i have spark. i even ran check engine code and got 12,33,37,55. none seemed relevant to issue at hand to me.?
