I expect the 9550 to find it's spot inbetween the 9500 and 9600. You decide.

I'm looking for a 128mb or a 256mb video card for about $150 and under. I need the video card for light gaming (mainly Counter-Strike until I find a game I like), web browsing, and DVDs. I don't need TV in for video editing.
I assume a 128mb card would be sufficient for my needs. I'm leaning toward an ATI but I don't know what the other brands mean that bear the Radeon label (Rosewill, Sapphire, Gigabyte, etc). Also I've heard that more RAM and a low end video card is better. Is this true?

Try http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20040809/doom3-02.html#enthusiast_high_quality since I think it has this card in the benchmarks.

Just picked up a Sapphire 9600 Atlantis, 256 DDR, DX9, Open GL 2, etc. from ---egg for $103. Replaced a Saphire 9000, 128 DDR. Useing the ATI drivers. So far so good. Had no problems with the 9k. Prices are down with the new coming in. Had to move up a notch.
