Why did my post get locked? How is that prohibited? The website even says that Apple is fine with you downloading the old OS from Apple's Old Download site at Apple.com... I'm not asking for a hack just some clarification. Is this not legal? Because you can download the OS straight from Apple themselves...

We must respect copyrights.

Until I hear from da' boss, each post with this question will be locked.

Check back next week Whizkid...

The bosses might agree next week that this is an OK question but the TOS does specify equipment workarounds or software hacks that might violate copyrights is a bib no no. If you are really anxious to get an answer, you could always go to apples' official forums and post the same question.

If it isn't used as intended...

it maybe construed as violating the existing copyright. Just because you can download something does not mean you can do anything you want with it. If cnet facilitates you in violating a copyright then that makes them as culpable as the original violator.

As I said in the above post... you can always contact apples' official forum and ask the same question.

EULA
Jan 5, 2007 11:52PM PST

If you read the EULA on any Apple Software, whether it be free or otherwise, the stipulation is that it is run exclusively on an Apple branded, or licensed computer.

This method of running a very old version of the Mac Operating System is basically the same as the MAME emulator for old video games.
