Qustodio with windows 8.1 bug time limit

Nov 15, 2014 6:54PM PST

hi,

I have a desktop windows 8.1. I have a administrator account. My son has a standard account. He found a way to avoid the time usage limits without changing the settings.
He open's a word or a fotoshop page, types some characters and then without saving the document does a shutdown of the pc. He receives a warning that the page is still open and then cancels the shutdown. In the icon bar on the right, the icon has disappeared with the following results. The time limit does not work anymore. The reporting stops but the blocking of pages keeps on working. (some other icons from other programs disappeared as well). I tried it myself and it's the truth.
This seems to be a serious bug, eventually caused by Microsoft in combination with Qustodio

What does qustodio (www.qustodio.com/) say when you report this bug and ask to correct it in their next update?

Been around the block a lot?

The thing about parental controls is that it's never a sure thing on a PC.

Why would I write that? Simple. PC = Personal Computer. Unlike terminals and such if you give me access to the PC I can make it do whatever I want. Even if you installed this or any other control apps. There are many that burn up at this point and want a locked down PC. Sorry but it goes against what a PC is.

I'd not waste my time on this avenue but do things that work better such as moving the PC to a public area where we can monitor the use.
