What you 'can' ask your friend
Feb 19, 2011 7:55PM PST

is what he uses to play this file.

Does his Nikon video camera save video files in .mov format, or in some other format? If it saves in some other format, which one?

What does your friend have to do with this file when he copies it to his computer, in order to watch it?

Mark

I had this issue with my old HP camera.

It also made unplayable .MOV files using what you noted as decoders.

While I did recycle that camera I did find that VLC PLAYER could play the content without installing HP's codec for that camera.
