Quicken Basic 2005 Peculiarities

May 6, 2005 10:13AM PDT

I've recently upgraded from Quicken Deluxe Version 4 to Quicken Basic 2005. The idea was that I didn't need all the bells and whistles that are a part of the more expensive version as I'm just tracking my expenses.

I'm clueless, however, why I can't insert a new transaction (CTRL +I) in the register. My older version always allowed this but this function is always greyed-out in the drop-down box where it appears.

I'd be very grateful to know if anyone has experienced this problem and if so, is a work-around available to solve this problem...or is it just that Intuit decided to de-activate this option in their Basic version. Many thanks for your thoughts, opinions, etc.
