quick time

Hi people,
I deleted 3 valves in the registry,QUICK TIME,QUICK TIME PLAYER,and QTTASK,rebooted, still there.Searched files and folders and found QUICK TIME,would not allow me to delete. So back to the registry searched for QTTASK,found it,deleted, and its now gone.I went back and forth to the registry many times,so I'm glad I put the regedit shortcut on the desktop. What I don't understand is why this was'nt in add/remove.
Thanks,
Tom

Tom, I Have Uninstall In Two Places...
Dec 17, 2004 12:47PM PST

This machine has two different Quicktime programs installed. ONE is the newest Quicktime 6.5 and it has and uninstall in "Add/Remove Programs" and in the Start-Programs-Quicktime-Uninstall Quicktime" shortcut.

The SECOND one is Quicktime for Windows which is installed as part of the Audubon Society program and an enclyclopedia program I've installed. Unfortunately, this computer doesn't have an easy way to install this version either. If I remember correctly, there are manual uninstall instructions for Quicktime 3.0 and QT for Windows.

Hope this helps.

quick time

Hi Grif,
When I searched the registry for quick time, then removed it,rebooted, still there.searched for quick time player, rebooted, still there and so on,it was here, there, and everywhere, after trail and error I finally removed it and I like the regedit shortcut I have,a real time saver. At first I checked start>programs, was not there, also tried add\remove,was not there.I don't know why it was not in those areas.I just checked the registry for "APPLE",and it does show up and I think there is a connection and exported, then deleted, was that the right decision.
Thanks,
Tom
