Quick question about CCleaner

Nov 26, 2010 3:09AM PST

Hi, I have noticed that when I run CCleaner on my computer all the default middle-size thumbnails in Explorer disappear and are turned into "small icons". Is there a way to avoid this? What is it I have to untick in CCleaner to avoid this?

Thanks in advance! Happy

Bo

All I can see
Nov 26, 2010 4:40AM PST

I've opened my CCleaner and all I can see on the opening page under System is Desktop Shortcuts. Mine isn't ticked, but is yours? I also see under Advanced, "Window size/Location Cache" and again mine isn't ticked.

But neither of those I would have thought would affect Desktop icon size.

It's usually best to keep the stock settings on this first page, eg all items down to and including Windows Log Files ticked, but all the rest below that unticked, unless you know what they do.

aren't ticked either. Actually, nothing that is ticked would seem to affect the thumbnail size, but I am not an expert...

Reading your post again

Sorry, reading your post again I see you are talking about Explorer in general, and not (just) the Desktop.

I think what you mean is that the "View" details in Windows Explorer for any folder changes to small icons. If you go to Tools > Folder Options then the "View" tab, scroll down and look at the options available. For example, "Remember each folder's settings", then back to the top and click "Apply to all folders". You may have to toggle a setting for that "Apply" button to become active.

It's a strange one though and not a problem I have had before.

I will try that.
I did try to change the icons back to medium size, and it worked until I closed the window, which I think is a little bit strange and probably shouldn't be so...
