Sep 24, 2007 12:40PM PDT

hi
right now i'm debating on which to buy.. the iriver clix gen2 or the creative ZEN (the latest one with SD slot).

and i'm wondering...

1) can u watch AVI. files directly by just drag and drop? (on both of them)or do u need to transcode it? if transcoding it.. how long does it take?

2) which has better sound quality?

3) which has better video quality?

4) which is more user friendly? ( like browsing on the player.. creating playlists.. transferring files..etc.)

5) and any other pros and cons on both player? anything opinions are great!

please i really need help.. and thankyou in advance for those who are willing answer my questions!!

Keep an eye out on the Sansa View too

best bet is to get the creative zen

1) From what I know, the iriver clix doesn't support that many video files so I'm not too sure about it... however, the creative zen has one of the best video support in my opinion. Whatever I throw into it, it plays with absolutely no problems.
2) For sound quality, I'm really on the fence with this one because they're both recognized to have good sound quality.
3) I think the video qualities are almost identical to eachother but since the iriver's screen is 2.2" compared to creative's 2.5", I'd recommend that latter.
4) Both of the players are known to be pretty userfriendly. For this though, I'd go w/ the iriver clix 2g. The navigation is simply genius. Both of them can create playlists and change wallpapers as well.
5)Clix - Can create your own themes! Praised sound quality and a gorgeous screen which will have absolutely no glares out on sunlight.
Zen - Video file support is amazing. Sound quality is almost as good as the clix I think (not too sure). Navigation is pretty good as well.

Overall, I'd still recommend the zen because it doesn't limit you. You can have expandable memory while the clix can't. They're both designed pretty well and overall, I think the zen will last you longer.
