Questions about system32 folder

Jun 7, 2005 4:35PM PDT

Hi everyone :

I have a pair of questions : Why the folder C:\windows\system32 is now hidden in my computer? I'm very pretty sure I did not change that attribute; two weeks ago I was able to see it without going to folder options. How can I unmark the hidden attribute (it is grayed-out now)?

Any help will be very appreciated.

I have an AMD Athlon WindowsXP Home notebook.

Thanks

Not sure why the folder is suddenly hidden, unless you've installed something recently that has changed it. To make it un-hidden, type the following in command prompt:

attrib -h c:\window\system32

Hope this helps,
Adi

I used that command, but it does not reset the attribute

Did you get an error?

Did it say why it didn't work?

You could always try booting in DOS mode and typing it.

Try scanning for any viruses or spyware that may be causing the problem.
