Questions about Logitech S220, pc speakers...

I'm looking for owner's of the Logitech S220, 2.1, computer speakers.
Specificlly how long of cord is on the remote?? is it hard wired or can I add an extention cord to it????? Can not find this info any-
where. all the pictures make it look like it's a foot or two? I want to put the sub about 5 feet away from my chair. Any help is appreciated. thanks.
