Resolved Question

I have questions about HDR monitor shopping.

I want a monitor that can support high dynamic range and wide color gamut and has a resolution of at least 1440p, is 27" (preferably 30" or more), a refresh rate of 60Hz is fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me on a specific monitor or the best site to shop for one? I am very new to shopping for monitors for myself. A price range would probably be $400 - $500.

Probably you prefer a shop in your own country. Which is that?

In reply to: Re: monitor

I will probably shop for one online though it is easier for me to get the information I just don't know what site is best and if there are things I should look for that I haven't mentioned.

Is this for gaming?

In reply to: I have questions about HDR monitor shopping.

Even for movie viewing I read folk complain about dim displays a lot which I tell them to turn off HDR and they say that works and we are done.

For gaming it appears the sweet spot is 144Hz and 2K monitors. I don't see the gamers going for HDR due to the sheer horsepower required and then sometimes not hitting 60 FPS.

There's a video about this issue and notice the dual GPU RTX 2080's installed on an i9 CPU monster system. So for gamers, I'm pointing them to 2K 144Hz monitors.
