Here's how. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=CHANGE+MOTHERBOARD+AND+SAVE+WINDOWS+2000+OS
This is what many have resorted to hardware dongles or activation to thwart what I saw as rampant piracy in the POS market. In fact I looked into publishing my own POS years ago but discovered that there was no chance of success there due to the piracy aspect. There were so many copies out there that could be had for free that I just ended that development the next week.
I sold a computer system on ebay, that contained a POS (Point of sale) system.
A week later, the person is claiming he is having all these network issues with it, and does not want to be bothered, and wants to return it.
I know a decent amount about computers, but not much about ghosting. Is it possible for him to somehow clone the hard drive and have the software be functional on another system? Also, would there be any way, through something like event viewer, to know if he did anything like this? I have a suspicion I am being scammed, but I would need proof in some way.
Any help anyone can supply would be greatly appreciated.
Its running MS Windows 2000 I believe.
