not much diffn

i heard that AMD 3800 and AMD 4000 share pretty similar features and 3800 is a bit lighter too, is that so?? sot this means i could go for 1GB + 3800 rather than 512MB + 4000.
or maybe i could update RAM later and still go with 512MB + AMD 4000???

go with cheaper

If moneys tight and you dont need extra speed go with the cheaper one since they are pretty much the same. Yet if moneys not a problem go with the 512 since you can later uprgrade. rember the larger cache the faster speed is regardless of the processor ghz. also later on you simply uprgrade the ram

Look at it this way.

1. You'll never change the CPU. (The 4000 wins)
2. You can always add ram. (The 4000 wins)
3. XP runs fine with 512M even when doing video editing. (The 4000 wins)
