I would head to or call Quicken on this one. They get that question daily.

Which forum would I submit a question if I'm having problems opening up my Quicken? Please advise.

Is this that .NET issue? Explain. I did place a call to Quicken; Paul in India answered the phone; I hung up.

I took a wild guess you were referring to an open post about Quicken and .NET.
If you can't write more, the I guess I can't help either.
Best of luck,
Bob
Mr. R. Proffitt:
Below is the detailed error message that I've been receiving since early yesterday everytime that I attempted to open up my Quicken. I tried 15 times to open up my Quicken with no success.
The version of Quicken I'm using is:
Quicken Basic 2001 - for Windows 95, 98, NT4 or 2000.
Here is the detailed error message I'm receiving everytime that I attempt to open up my Quicken. This all started happening yesterday morning soon after turning my PC on for the day.

I have the original Quicken CD; reloaded it over my already loaded program; nothing happened. A Quicken tech rep in India who I had trouble understanding suggested last night that I uninstall my present Quicken and reinstall Quicken again using my Quicken CD.
I am reluctant to do that because I have "28" floppies of Quicken; I would hate to lose all of that data. Any suggestions Bob Proffitt or anyone else? Could my spyware/adware problem which hit my computer several weeks ago be causing this problem?
I seem to think not because up until yesterday morning I have been able to open and close my Quicken Basic Edition 2001 without any problem. Suggestions from anyone?
And Mr. Proffitt I did speak to a guy with Velocity Micro last night about finally purchasing a new desktop PC. I had planned to do so in late February 2005 and early March 2005 but a case of the flu in late February 2005 which forced me to go into the hospital in early March 2005 put those plans on hold.
I still am experiencing problems with that dialer disconnecting my regular ISP dialer so I have been staying off the internet most of the time. I signed into this forum briefly; then closed my internet connection so we'll just have to see when I hit the submit button and reconnect to the internet quickly whether or not this detailed post makes it to this forum or not.

But yes, spyware is doing nasty things to machines and if it gets on, all bets are off if the OS can ever be sanitary or operate properly.
Nothing in your post reveals a "do this answer" short of an OS wipe and reinstall.
As to losing data, that is the old lesson about backing up what we can't lose. If that is the real issue, backup first before attempting any repairs.
-> I read your post and third time and didn't see the OS so I can't offer any specific remedial actions. And I'd rather not go over every OS possibility (I type all this in and don't copy/paste a lot.)
Best of luck in recovery,
Bob
PS. This a friendly place. It is not tech support.
My computer's OS is WIN 95; I have IE 5.5 and Outlook Express for email and my version of Quicken is Quicken Basic 2001.
You mentioned in your previous post that you needed more information which I thought that I provided to you; I took a big chance sending you more details and I am fully aware that this is not a forum for tech support.
Unfortunately for me Quicken no longer offers tech support for their version 2001. I did attempt to speak briefly to a Paul in India who I couldn't understand so I hung up.
To answer another question; this computer was a gift to me several years ago from my brother but unfortunately the WIN 95 CD was not included with the computer. Why I do not know and yes this forum is a "friendly" place. I don't recall saying that it wasn't.

There's no repair in this case. The parts are missing.
As to friendly, the posting tone was that of some that expect support. Support here is good, but not to be expected. Instead we share the issues and try to find solutions.
My advice? Go find a proper OS CD so repair becomes possible. Windows 95 is not supportable by any company anymore. While that sounds terrible, 95 owners have had plenty of time to figure it out by now.
