submit a ticket to Webroot about this error and see if they have a fix.
You can also use DBAN (it's free) http://dban.sourceforge.net/ to wipe the hard-drive. Then fresh install Windows.
If you prefer to not to wipe the hard-drive by keeping the operating system on it, you can use also the freeware CCleaner Freeware http://www.ccleaner.com/ (in case Webroot has no solution or answer yet) to clean-up drive using many passes.
Hello, My husband and I just purchased a new laptop and are planning on donating our old PC. For security purposes we ran a program called Webroot Window Washer and just have a few question about it, Hopefully someone on here is familiar with this software.
After running the clean free space option (says it cleans up hard drive and personal information and whatnot) with the 3 pass option, it completed to 99% then said "Clean Free Space Threw an Exception." ( We know very little about computers, and not sure what that means). After trying a second time (this time with the 7 pass), the same thing happened. My question is, did the software do what it should have done and is it now safe to say that our computer's hard drive, personal files, and information are erased. Or at least clean enough to get rid of? If not, can anyone reccomend another software program out there that would be better?
Thanks in advace!
