Question About Uninstalling Netscape 7.1

by caster / March 30, 2004 1:51 AM PST

I'm running Windows XP Home with all critical updates. I was using Netscape 7.1 but decided to switch to Mozilla 1.6. Mozilla installed successfully and picked up all my bookmarks, address book and other settings. (I believe Mozilla uses my existing NS profile.)

Since Mozilla is running great, I would like to uninstall NS using the Add or Remove Programs control panel. (Since installing Mozilla, I've not used NS.)

My question is, will uninstalling NS remove the user profile that is now used by Mozilla? If so, what procedure should I follow to save this profile?

No it shouldnt remove anything germaine to mozilla.Additionally the typical Netscape removal does not delete the profile info but leaves it in place so that if you change your mind it doesnt get lost. A complete removal requires manual intervention.

PS: I don't have a clue why my original message got posted twice at two very different times.
